Job summary

MCSG Technologies seeks a cFS Software Developer to support NASA GSFC’s Core Flight System, delivering sustaining engineering and software development for reusable flight software components used by NASA and other agencies. The role is hybrid at GSFC, Greenbelt, MD (4 days on-site, 1 day remote).

Responsibilities include software requirements analysis, architecture, coding, testing, integration, and documentation; collaboration with PDL and engineering teams; and sustaining activities across the

Qualifications

• Experience with SDLC processes and safety/mission-critical software.
• Strong C, C++, Python development skills.
• Embedded software and flight software experience.
• Linux development environments and RTOS knowledge.
• Git, CI/CD, and Docker proficiency.
• Familiarity with APIs; cybersecurity best practices desirable.
• Knowledge of hardware platforms (Xilinx/Zynq/PicoZed) desirable.
• VxWorks/RTEMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and sustain reusable Core Flight System software components.
• Analyze requirements, define architecture, design, code, test, and build.
• Support SDLC activities and integration across environments.
• Create flight-ready software for NASA missions and government agencies.
• Collaborate with PDL and engineering teams; participate in reviews and demos.
• Assist with sustaining engineering, updates, and defect resolution.
• Provide software documentation per NASA processes.
