Job summary

V2X in Fort Riley, Kansas is seeking a Simulator Technician II to perform scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on the CCTT platforms and related simulation equipment, following technical manuals and industry best practices.

You will record maintenance in real-time, monitor hardware baselines, test interoperability, install modifications or upgrade kits, and assist with software and hardware patches while coordinating with training leads to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer and networking skills.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s license and On-Post driving privileges.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Experience utilizing test equipment including torque wrenches, volt/micrometers, network cable crimping/testers and solder stations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot, and repair as necessary.
• Perform electrical and mechanical adjustment, remove and replace failed components, and make repairs on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on simulators per manuals and checklists.
• Coordinates with leads to avoid conflicts with training, exercises, and testing.
• Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE.
• Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location.
• Sets up and tests simulation equipment to confirm all components work as expected, including interoperability and operation verification.
• Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability.
• Installs modifications or upgrade kits as per manufacturer’s instructions.
• May install and maintain software and hardware, and manage patches and security for installed applications and operating systems.
