Job summary

Entegee is seeking a hardware engineer to drive the design and integration of flight simulator hardware in Orlando. You will develop power and control systems and motion platform components, generate detailed drawings, and ensure interfaces meet system requirements.

Responsibilities include leading a small engineering team, coordinating with procurement and manufacturing, and delivering on complex, cross-functional reviews. Experience with Lean/Agile processes is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in developing flight simulation hardware solutions on programs.
  • Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and industry practices.
  • Issuing design approvals and non-conformance reports through PLM tools.
  • CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, assemblies, and tests.
  • HW architectures and interfaces between subsystems.
  • Deriving hardware requirements from customer requirements.
  • Building BOMs and design documentation.
  • Support cross-functional teams through technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • Experience applying hardware engineering processes in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Complete hardware design and development activities for power and control systems, motion platform integration, and avionics interfaces.
  • Manage end-to-end integration of simulator hardware with building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, fire/smoke monitoring).
  • Lead other Hardware Engineers and coordinate with procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet schedules.

Job description

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in developing flight simulation hardware solutions on programs.
  • Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines
  • Issuing formal design checking approvals or non-conformance reports through the PLM tool.
  • Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
  • Developing and generating HW architectural layouts for system and lower level interfaces between systems and subsystems
  • Deriving Hardware and sub tier requirements from customer requirements
  • Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional teams through major technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
  • Experience applying Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Windchill, Creo, Windchill and/or Catia, Zuken and Cameo.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of generating hardware architecture, high level interconnects, and deriving requirements from customer and system level flow downs.
  • Prior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of flight training systems.
  • Leveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products.
  • Experience adapting hardware designs to existing climate control systems, ensuring temperature/humidity stability for avionics and motion platforms.
  • Experience interfacing with the facilitys existing fire detection and suppression infrastructure
  • Product design experience in the context of modular open systems architectures (e.g. SOA).
  • Experience with Rotary and/or Fixed Wing Aircraft
  • Experience with full motion simulators.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete hardware design and development activities for power and control systems, motion platform integration, visual display systems, avionics interfaces, and ancillary equipment.
  • Manage end to end integration of the new simulator hardware with the existing building infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, and fire and smoke monitoring systems.
  • Lead other Hardware Engineers that synchronizes engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design is completed as scheduled. Develop innovative solutions to a range of complex problems that are consistent with the program objectives.
