Job summary

Stoke Space is seeking a Flight Safety Systems Engineer to lead the Flight Termination System (FTS) within the Nova program. The role covers multidisciplinary work across design, test, certification, and operation, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ideal candidates have experience across multiple engineering disciplines and a track record of delivering high-reliability systems on rapid development timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or similar field.
• 2+ years of experience in an engineering role on a complex product with high performance and reliability.
• Strong fundamentals of flight dynamics and statistics.
• Familiarity with mechanical design and component testing.
• Experience with simulation and modeling of physical systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lead and follow.

Responsibilities

• Design aspects of the Flight Termination System and its interface with rocket hardware and safety regulations.
• Integrate FTS components into the launch vehicle and perform all testing from production through launch.
• Define environmental test requirements, plans, and execute testing to qualify FTS components with test engineers and vendors.
• Define verification methods, collect verification evidence, and document verification of RCC319 and RCC324 requirements to government entities.
• Partner with test operations related to FTS components and ensure configuration management, hosting System Readiness Review.
