Job summary

Stoke Space in Kent, WA seeks a Flight Safety Systems Engineer to own the Flight Termination System design, testing and certification across interfaces with rocket hardware and safety regulations. You will work with multiple engineering disciplines and regulatory bodies to ensure safe, reliable operation and compliant verification procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or similar field is required.
• Strong fundamentals in flight dynamics and statistics are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to lead and follow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design aspects of the Flight Termination System and how it interfaces with rocket hardware and safety regulations.
• Integrate FTS components into the launch vehicle and perform all related integrated testing from production through launch.
• Define environmental test requirements, test plans, and execute testing to qualify FTS components with test engineers and vendors.
• Define verification methods, collect verification evidence, and provide documentation of verification of RCC319 and RCC324 requirements to government entities.
• Coordinate with integrated test operations related to FTS components and ensure tight configuration management.
