Job summary

JT4, LLC seeks a Flight Safety Field Engineer to support UTTR operations and weapon development programs. You will serve as a safety SME, advising mission planning and execution, conducting SRBs, evaluating flight routes, and ensuring compliance with UTTR safety requirements.

The role requires an associate degree and 10+ years' related experience, with strong RF engineering and communication skills. Travel to remote locations and interaction with customers will be part of the job.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military training with 10+ years in the specialty
• Experience with EFTS development, design, and ground transmission systems
• Knowledge of RF propagation concepts, engineering, and safety
• Ability to apply latest engineering developments to solve problems
• Proficiency with computer systems and engineering tools
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and design operational solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor test article performance in real-time against flight parameters and advise UTTR RSOs/RCOs
• Conduct pre-mission SRBs to evaluate planned profiles and ensure UTTR safety requirements
• Analyze program adequacy and advise ROA
• Represent UTTR at design reviews and safety evaluations
• Evaluate flight routes for safety and conduct site surveys
• Interpret maps and use RF propagation software to develop coverage plans
• Perform RF link margin analysis and related EFTS assessments
• Serve as SME for EFTS deployment, operation, and troubleshooting
• Coordinate with UTTR and customers to meet requirements
• Perform other duties as required
