Job summary

Joby Aviation’s Flight Research team seeks a Test Pilot to operate crewed and UAS platforms, focusing on the Cessna Caravan program. You will lead test activities, write plans, and coordinate with engineering on human interfaces and airspace integration.

Qualified candidates bring FAA certificates, significant PIC and turbine hours, and a STEM degree. Located in Concord, CA, with international travel as needed and a strong safety culture across a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate required.
• Instrument rating required.
• 750 hours PIC time minimum.
• 100 hours turbine time minimum.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field preferred.
• At least 5 years aviation operations experience.
• At least 3 years as a test pilot.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Act as airborne and remote pilot in command for various R&D aircraft platforms.
• Uphold SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain strong safety culture.
• Create test plans, cards, and reports.
• Conduct data analysis.
• Collaborate with crewmembers in prep, execution, and post-test activities.
• Provide feedback and recommendations for system improvements.
• Engage in engineering design activities focusing on human interfaces and airspace integration.
