Electra Aero in Manassas, VA is seeking an Intermediate Flight Physics Engineer to help design, develop, and test our hybrid-electric short takeoff and landing aircraft. This startup environment requires versatility, fast execution, and collaboration across disciplines.

You will analyze aerodynamic data from CFD simulations, wind tunnel tests, and flight tests; perform CFD prep, meshing, solving and post-processing; support design reviews and trade studies; and work with structures, controls,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in relevant discipline areas.
• Hands-on CFD experience with Flow360 or FUN3D.
• Familiarity with Pointwise mesh generation for external flows.
• Python skills for CFD data analysis, post-processing, automation.
• Familiarity with Paraview for visualizing CFD results.
• Strong problem-solving and startup collaboration.
• Ability to document design processes.

Responsabilités

• Analyze aerodynamic data from CFD, wind tunnel, flight tests.
• Support design and analysis of test/prototype systems.
• Assist with CFD analyses: geometry prep, meshing, solving, post-processing.
• Support gated design reviews to verify design adequacy.
• Support trade studies to define architectures and interfaces.
• Collaborate with structures, controls, propulsion teams to drive decisions.
