Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an experienced Paramedic to provide Advanced Life Support in the interfacility transport setting and to work with a multidisciplinary team including EMS staff, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff.

The Paramedic will ensure ongoing certification, contribute to continuing education, and participate in the PennSTAR Flight Team activities. Orientation and competency milestones are outlined in the role description.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough vehicle and equipment checks at shift start and correct deficiencies.
• Complete Narcotic Accountability Form at shift start.
• Assist EMS partner with daily unit inspection.
• Provide patient reports and maintain communications with the PennSTAR Center.
• Coordinate safe loading and unloading of patients from the ambulance.
• Maintain required licenses/certifications and continuing education for Medical Command status.
