Job description

Flight Paramedic - Starting at $20.92+ DOE

We are hiring a Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transportation professionals. Your role will involve safely transporting patients to and from medical facilities and handling scene call work. Our focus is on safety, effective, and efficient patient care, working within a professional team committed to high safety standards for crew and patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the designated time frame.
  2. Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
  3. Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient transfer to medical facilities, maintaining thorough documentation.
  4. Maintain competency through ongoing training and clinical experiences.
  5. Keep documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and procedures up to date in the Employee Education Manual.
  6. Be knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all emergency equipment and supplies.
  7. Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS personnel, hospitals, and the public.
  8. Participate as a medical flight team member.
  9. Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings, completing all necessary documentation.
  10. Assist with pre-mission checklists and pilot activities such as radio, navigation, and visual observation as needed.
  11. Follow safety standards to ensure the safety of all personnel, patients, and equipment before liftoff.
  12. Conduct aircraft safety briefings when necessary.
  13. Fill open or vacant shifts in your designated area as directed by the Regional Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. At least three (3) years of experience in a 911 or critical care setting.

Preferred Education and Certifications:

  1. Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served.
  2. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required before flight status.
  3. Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred; required within 24 months of hire.
  4. Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS are preferred.
  5. NREMT-P certification may be required depending on the assigned area.
