Job summary

PHI Health, LLC is seeking a qualified Flight Clinician to provide safe and comprehensive care to critically ill patients during transport. Under the supervision of the Base Medical Supervisor, the Flight Clinician will perform specialized assessments and participate in critical care transport operations.

The role requires an active RN license, a minimum of 3 years critical care experience, and relevant certifications. Competitive pay and a sign-on bonus up to $30,000 are included within a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Base Medical Supervisor or Manager of Business Operations, the Flight Clinician will provide safe, comprehensive care to critically ill or injured patients of all ages in the pre‑hospital setting and during inter‑facility transports. The role involves utilizing flight nursing principles, emergency procedures, diagnostics, and advanced medical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment during transport on rotor‑wing, fixed‑wing, and ground vehicles.
• Document accurate assessment and treatment information during stabilization and transport.
• Maintain complete billing information for patient transports.
• Facilitate effective and timely communication between management, internal and external customers.
• Participate in PR and marketing support activities.
• Maintain a current knowledge base through mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, clinical rotations, and continuing education sessions related to critical care transport.
• Complete all annual recurrent competency requirements.
• Provide clinical care under the program's Medical Director through medical protocols and procedures with online medical guidance.
• Report directly to the program's Manager of Clinical Services for clinical matters, and indirectly to the National Director of Clinical Standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Minimum 3 years (5 years preferred) of current critical care or emergency experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and certifications in TNATC, TNCC, ITLS, or PHTLS (NRP preferred). Instructor certifications preferred.
• Must obtain CFRN within 24 months of hire.
• Flight or transport experience preferred.
• Pass PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
• Effective human relations skills and ability to interface with all personnel levels and external customers.
• Maintain clinical personnel weight restriction and body weight below 235 lbs.
• Pass pre‑placement physical exam, functional capacity, and drug screening.
• Basic computer skills for e‑mail and electronic charting.
