Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Flight Line Avionics Technician to join the Final Assembly Line in Mobile, AL. You will perform FTP, pre/post flight inspections and prepare aircraft for test readiness, while learning new troubleshooting techniques and supporting flight line operations.

The role requires 3 years of Avionics A&P experience or an FCC license, a Repairman Certificate ability, and a valid driver's license, with a contract/temporary arrangement in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in Avionics A&P or holding an FCC license.
• Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
• Valid Driver License.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform Functional Test Procedure (FTP) and pre/post flight inspections.

Your working environment:

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

• Basic knowledge of electrical/Mechanical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, micrometers and powered/non-powered support equipment
• Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures: AMM/IPC/AWD/SB
• Ability to perform work in the confined space area, height condition and outdoor environment condition
• Use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment in completing work assignments, and jigs/Fixtures with associated license, such as but not limited to: Crane, Cherry-picker, Fork lift, Lifting platform, Loading platform

Your boarding pass:

• 3 years’ experience with Applied Science in Avionics A&P, or FCC license.
• Ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate.
• Valid Driver License.
• Must be willing to work Rotation shift schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows unrestricted travel.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 5 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
• Basic operating computer skills: Google.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
