Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks experienced helicopter pilots to operate EMS flights from our Burlington, WI base. You will plan and execute missions, coordinate with medical teams and dispatch, and maintain meticulous flight logs in compliance with FAA rules.

The role requires 2,500 hours of helicopter flight time, current FAA medical, and ATP or instrument rating. Night and turbine experience are highly valued; base is within one hour of Milwaukee area.

Qualifications

  • FAA commercial pilot with instrument rating or ATP and appropriate ratings.
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate (or higher).
  • 2,500 hours total flight time in a helicopter.
  • 100 hours cross-country flight – 25 hours at night.
  • 75 actual or simulated instrument hours.
  • 100 hours unaided night flight time.
  • Pass a 135.293 check ride within the first 60 days of hire.
  • Preferred: air ambulance experience; Night Vision Goggle experience; turbine-time.

Responsibilities

  • Operates aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and mission protocols.
  • Plans and executes flights, accounting for weather, weight and balance, and fuel requirements.
  • Collaborates with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless mission execution.
  • Responds promptly to emergency callouts, maintaining readiness at all times.
  • Maintains accurate flight and maintenance logs as required by the company and FAA.
  • Represents the company professionally when interacting with patients, families, and the public.
