Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Direct Support Operator Flight Instructor at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM to prepare Career Enlisted Aviators for JTWS and next‑gen systems through classroom instruction, simulator training, and airborne operations.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance on day one, proven instructional experience, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to lead a high‑performing team in a dynamic mission environment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required on Day 1.
• 6+ years of experience in DSO/related roles or as flight instructors.
• Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience.
• Ability to pass and maintain flight physical qualifications.
• Proven instructional expertise; prior flight instructor experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead independently in a high‑performance team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and flight training software (PEX, GTIMS).

Responsibilities

• Instruct 1A8 personnel for qualifications and upgrades.
• Deliver training on mission planning, safety, airmanship, threat warning, TTPs, and COMSEC.
• Develop and refine instruction materials and simulator scenarios.
• Advise on military SOI development for cutting-edge training.
• Assess student performance and create remedial training plans.
• Travel to training locations for aircraft-specific training.
