Job summary

Hermeus seeks a hands-on Structures/Mechanical Engineering intern to support design, build, and test of flight hardware for next‑gen aircraft systems. You will work on subassemblies such as control surfaces, landing gear doors, and avionics trays from concept through fabrication and test.

This internship offers Spring and Summer sessions with hands-on opportunities across engineering disciplines and rapid hardware development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering with GPA 3.0+.
• Hands-on hardware experience via internships, labs, projects or teams.
• Familiarity with CAD tools and basic engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of flight hardware and mechanical subassemblies.
• Assist with CAD modeling, drawing creation, hardware release and design updates.
• Perform basic hand calculations and engineering analysis to inform decisions.
• Help build, integrate, troubleshoot, and test prototype hardware.
• Collaborate with structures, mechanical, manufacturing, avionics, and test teams.
• Contribute to design reviews, test planning, and documentation of lessons learned.
• Support rapid iteration by proposing design improvements based on build/test feedback.
