Job summary

Endeavor Optical Network in Culver City, CA is seeking a software engineer to own the flight and embedded stack, from drivers and bring-up to commanding, telemetry, and fault management on the payload.

You will work with the GNC and Lasercom teams, developing embedded firmware in C/C++, building the payload application, and implementing real-time control loops. The role includes relocation assistance and stock options, with onsite work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Embedded development depth in C/C++, spanning bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for terminal and payload electronics with drivers and BSPs.
• Build the payload application layer: commanding, telemetry, fault detection and management.
• Implement real-time control loops translating designs to flight software.
• Support board bring-up with EE seats, writing low-level drivers (I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet).
• Instrument observability: logging, telemetry, diagnostics for integration, test, and operations.
• Stand up the embedded toolchain: CI, version control, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
