Job summary

Endeavor Optical Network in Culver City, CA, seeks a software engineer to own the flight and embedded stack, from drivers and bring-up to commanding, telemetry, and fault management on the payload.

You will collaborate with the GNC and Lasercom teams, implement real-time control loops, develop low-level drivers, and build observable telemetry while maturing the stack toward flight. This is a hands-on role at a seed-stage space hardware startup, offering stock options and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with embedded firmware, real-time systems, and board bring-up.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for terminal and payload electronics.
• Build payload application layer: commanding, telemetry, fault detection.
• Implement real-time control loops in flight software.
• Support board bring-up with EE seats and low-level drivers.
• Instrument observability: logging, telemetry, diagnostics.
• Stand up the embedded toolchain: CI, version control, build systems.
• Define path from demonstrator to flight: fault handling, update mechanisms.
