Loft Orbital is looking for a Flight Dynamics Software Engineer to join the Ground Platform organization in San Francisco, CA. You will contribute to our open-source astrodynamics tooling and backend services that manage ephemerides, maneuvers, and conjunctions for a growing fleet.

You will implement and improve orbit determination, maneuver planning, and attitude modeling algorithms, collaborating with mission engineers and satellite operations to enable reliable, automated, and scalable space

Competenze

• Solid understanding of orbital mechanics and state estimation.
• Experience with orbit determination, propagation, and maneuver planning.
• Experience interfacing with mission engineers and operations teams.

Mansioni

• Implement and improve orbit determination and propagation algorithms.
• Develop and maintain in-house ground software backend for ephemerides and maneuvers.
• Interface with systems and mission engineers to translate requirements into operations.
• Support satellite operations during LEOP, anomalies, and conjunction responses.
