Job summary

Merlin Labs in Boston is seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to develop and integrate aircraft models within our simulation environment, spanning aerodynamics, controls, and legacy subsystems. You will collaborate with simulation platform and integration teams to bring models from concept to operational use in our virtual test environment.

The role supports active programs and long-term evolution of flight dynamics, enabling how aircraft behavior is represented across our simulation ecosystem,

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering is required.
• 5 years of experience with aircraft dynamics and simulation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink with C/C++ and Python basics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and update aircraft models for aerodynamics, control systems, servos, brakes, and landing gear.
• Support flight test planning, instrumentation, and data analysis for simulation development.
• Write software to improve the existing simulation continuously.
• Collaborate with virtual test environment users to meet objectives.
• Support expansion of the virtual test environment for customer needs.
