Job summary

Horizon Air in Seattle seeks a qualified Dispatch Specialist to manage preflight planning, release, and flight following for company aircraft. This union-represented role emphasizes safety, compliance, and efficient operations across domestic routes.

You will brief crews on weather, NOTAMs, MELs, and routing, monitor flight status, and support operations with accurate data and timely decisions. A valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher's Certificate and the ability to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• FAA Aircraft Dispatcher's Certificate required.
• Knowledge of FARs, weather, and dispatch procedures.
• Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Minimum age 23 and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Horizon Air aircraft under 14 CFR Part 121.
• Plan each flight departure with safety, compliance, and efficiency as priorities.
• Monitor weather, NOTAMs, and airfield conditions for safe flight releases.
• Provide briefings to flight crews on METARs, NOTAMs, MELs, and routing.
• Monitor dispatch systems for accurate data and performance.
• Dispatch, delay, reroute, or divert flights as required by regulations and policy.
• Support station operations with fuel, payload, and routing information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
