Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Human Factors Lead Research Scientist to drive research on flight deck usability and safety. You will design experiments, run simulators, recruit participants, and report results to stakeholders.

You'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure flight deck interfaces support pilots' cognitive and physical needs, while complying with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on human factors research in aerospace or high-tech settings.
• Experience designing and executing full lifecycle studies and data collection.
• Proven ability to author research docs (IRB, protocols, reports).
• Advanced writing and analytical thinking for technical audiences.
• Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead HF research activities aligned with Honeywell Aerospace goals.
• Design and conduct experiments and usability studies for cockpit interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and PMs to integrate HF considerations.
• Design, test, and certify look and behavior of the flight deck.
• Develop test plans and technical reports meeting industry standards.
