Overview

SUMMARY

Quality Assurance Manager will drive industry‑leading quality performance in the Baytown Manufacturing Plant and US Field Operations, promoting consistency with the parent company’s manufacturing plants and the FlexSteel Quality Management System (QMS).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own and maintain the local QMS ensuring compliance with ISO, API and applicable industry standards.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state and local agencies.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and accreditation audits.
  • Champion company quality initiatives and programs, promoting excellence.
  • Ensure that procedures, specifications and work instructions are current and consistent with the QMS.
  • Oversee document control processes and provide review/approval where required.
  • Provide leadership so all operations and activities follow company quality policies.
  • Maintain quality metrics and support company reporting mechanisms.
  • With HSE Manager, facilitate equipment and/or design risk assessments and verify controls.
  • Challenge existing processes and raise quality concerns.
  • Facilitate and lead critical quality and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage approved vendor list (AVL) including compliance surveys and vendor audits/approvals.
  • Oversee and drive the Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) and Customer Resolution System (CRS).
  • Drive investigations, root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and ensure implementation.
  • Responsible for Cost of Quality metrics.
  • Responsible for company quality training programs and compliance.
  • Create and approve quality and inspection plans.
  • Conduct quality audits of contractors, subcontractors and partners as required.
  • Schedule and perform internal process audits throughout the plant and services.
  • Support customer bid and project compliance activities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide quality leadership and mentoring to all Manufacturing Plant & Field personnel.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for hiring, firing, disciplinary actions and performance appraisals.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years of experience in a quality leadership role.
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry preferred.
  • Background checks may be required.
  • Medical examinations may be required.
  • Safety certifications may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Travel to remote locations.

  • Operate in a professional office environment routinely using computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work normally in an office environment or from home, occasionally at a branch location or manufacturing facility.
  • May be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc., when visiting branch or manufacturing facility.
  • Noise level usually moderate.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Work occasionally in industrial/field environment around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials.
  • Wear required PPE.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in regular safety training.
  • Complete required safety certifications.
  • Comply with all environmental regulations.
