Job summary

FlexSteel USA in Baytown, TX is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to set up and operate equipment for flexible pipe production. Entry level and senior level experience are welcome. This is an on-site role with 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am shifts, offering two pay-period options (108 hours or 96 hours) per cycle.

You will read technical drawings, perform mechanical assembly, conduct basic maintenance, document results, and work with a team to meet safety, quality, and production targets.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly preferred.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly or related field.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly and equipment operation.
  • Welding and NDT experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machinery used in the manufacturing of flexible pipes.
  • Perform mechanical assembly operations as part of the equipment setup process.
  • Conduct basic routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment for optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Complete required documentation records in accordance with procedures.
  • Document and report issues or discrepancies in equipment setup, production, and maintenance.

This is a FlexSteel Pipe position and is located in Baytown, TX.
Looking for entry level and senior level experience.

Schedule:

Hours: 7am- 7pm and 7pm-7am

Employees can be on any of these shift schedules, candidates need to be comfortable with all:

1. 108 hours per pay period : 1 week- Mon-Fri 2-week Mon- Thurs = 108 hours -- Repeat - Weekends off

2. 96 hours per pay period : 2 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off- 3 days on- 2 days off-- Repeat (Every other weekend off every 4 weeks) = 96 hours per pay period

  • The Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating equipment that requires mechanical assembly operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient and accurate production of our flexible pipes.
