Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leader in sustainable packaging, is seeking a Plate Preparation Clerk to support flexographic printing on the press. You will set up, clean, laminate, and mount plate material, while maintaining quality and safety on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to follow coordinates and procedures. Overtime may be required; reliable attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering forms and coordinates.
• Basic arithmetic skills (add/sub/mult/div).
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Good attendance and reliable work history.
• Overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Able to perform all essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Set up plate material on mounting machine using coordinates.
• Clean and laminate plate material.
• Mount plate material onto belt material for press operation.
• Prepare and trim plates to maintain quality.
• Clean and maintain mounting equipment and area.
• Remove and remount plates as needed.
• Oversee mounting schedule and determine job needs.
• Assist press operator with adjustments.
• Follow safety procedures and complete documentation.
• Inspect plates to ensure quality and reuse.
• Perform line clearance and remove mounting waste.
• Coordinate with other departments on projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
