Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a plate preparation technician to set up, clean, laminate, and mount plate material for Flexographic printing. The role involves trimming plates, maintaining mounting equipment, and coordinating with the press team to ensure quality while following safety policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to perform arithmetic and read safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Good attendance is required.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to perform all essential functions with/without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Sets up plate material on mounting machine using coordinates.
• Clean and laminate plate material.
• Mount plate material onto belt material to run on Flexographic press.
• Prepare and trim plates to maintain production quality.
• Maintain mounting equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Remove and mount plates as needed and manage storage.
• Monitor production schedule to determine mounting needs.
• Assist press operators with adjustments on the press.
• Support other printing processes as directed by supervision.
• Complete required job documentation and inspections.
