Job summary

Olsson seeks a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Manager in Olathe, KS to lead daily laboratory operations, ensure accurate, compliant testing, and manage personnel and equipment.

You will develop and implement technical procedures, maintain certifications, oversee safety, and support field testing on diverse projects, mentoring staff toward a culture of excellence.

This role requires 8+ years in construction with 5+ years in a CMT lab and certifications such as ACI or NICET.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a construction materials or geotechnical laboratory.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of alertness and operate safely in all conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily laboratory operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant testing services.
• Develop and implement technical procedures aligned with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain laboratory certifications and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, maintenance, and procurement.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct field visits to project sites, supporting testing operations in varied terrain and weather conditions.
