Job summary

Charter Oak Home Care is seeking experienced caregivers (PCA, HHA, CNA) to provide in-home care for an older adult in Torrington, CT. The role focuses on assisting with all ADLs, personal care, and compassionate companionship, with a flexible schedule designed around client needs.

The position offers an hourly wage of $18–$23, with shifts primarily on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 1–5pm) and potential variations to cover other 4–12 hour shifts throughout the week.

Qualifications

• Compassion and empathy are essential.
• Alzheimer's or Dementia experience is a plus.
• Ability to use sound judgement and stay calm under pressure.
• Reliable and on time for shifts.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
• Ability to pass a background check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized in-home care per the care plan.
• Assist with personal care activities including hygiene and mobility.
• Support with activities of daily living and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and social interaction to reduce isolation.
• Follow safety protocols to keep clients safe at home.
• Transport to appointments as needed.
