Job summary

Stanbridge University is seeking dedicated Adjunct Vocational Nursing (VN) Faculty to educate and mentor the next generation of vocational nurses across multiple campus locations including OC/Irvine, LA/Alhambra, SD/San Marcos, and IE/Riverside.

Teach Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Mental Health nursing in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; part-time schedule with flexible locations and times.

Qualifications

• Active California RN or LVN license required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.
• Minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience within the past five (5) years.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required.
• Previous teaching or precepting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• ATI and CourseKey experience preferred.
• Up-to-date immunization records required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical and/or theory instruction using approved course materials.
• Develop instructional strategies that engage students and promote clinical judgment.
• Evaluate student competency using established clinical and academic standards.
• Facilitate the integration of theory into clinical practice.
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with clinical agency and university policies.
• Lead pre-and post-clinical conferences to reinforce learning.
• Engage students in reflective practice and critical thinking.
• Foster a professional learning environment that promotes accountability, integrity, and collaboration.
• Support student success through active engagement and instructional flexibility.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of student grades, attendance, and performance.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice and instructional content.
• Participate in department meetings and shared governance activities as required.
