Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician credential preferred.
• Experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital.
• Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and lab procedures.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging.
• Strong communication with clients and coworkers.
• Commitment to accurate documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and fluid therapy.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs and perform in-house labs (CBCs, chemistry, UA).
• Assist with surgical prep, monitor anesthesia, and provide recovery care.
• Educate clients about preventive care, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records and collaborate with the team.
• Assist with client communication and front-desk needs when necessary.
