Job summary

Sodexo at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL is hiring a Utility Worker to support kitchen and facility operations. You will help maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across production and service areas, including equipment, floors, walls, and storage spaces, while assisting with setup and break-down tasks.

This full-time on-site role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and knowledge of sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic concepts of food safety.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes by hand or place them in a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, clean and vacuum floors.
• Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards.
• Re‑stock supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
• Must walk or mobilize for mandatory distances.
• Must walk or stand for extended periods throughout the shift (may exceed 8 hours).
• Must reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• Must attend work and show up on time with satisfactory regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts.
