Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex - Unarmed in Glendale, California. You will patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle, monitor entrances, and respond to alarms while delivering professional service across Healthcare, Education, Finance, and more.

This flexible on-call role uses our shift-pickup platform to build a schedule that fits your availability. A high school diploma or 5 years’ experience, valid license where required, background check and drug screen are required;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Background investigation required by law; certain histories allowed
• Drug screen required where permitted by law
• No prior experience required
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if armed)
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
• Able to operate radio/telephone equipment and console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication; strong listening and problem-solving
• Assess and evaluate situations quickly; identify critical issues
• Mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
• Teamwork

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence
• Warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, forbidden articles)
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders
