Job summary

Pattison’s Academy Charter School in Charleston, South Carolina, seeks a Special Education Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year to cover staff absences on an as-needed basis. The position is guaranteed at least 4 days per month, with additional days available as needed.

You will work with the special education classroom team to support learning for children with multiple disabilities in grades K–12+, in a setting that integrates education, medical, and therapy services to foster

Qualifications

• Experience with children with disabilities preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supports student participation and independence with appropriate assistance.
• Assists in basic medical and health routines under nursing staff guidance.
• Provides personal care assistance including feeding, toileting, and hygiene as directed.
• Assists in preparing instructional materials and organizing classroom resources.
• Maintains classroom and equipment cleanliness and safety throughout the day.
