Albemarle Co in Charlottesville, VA seeks qualified LPNs and RNs to substitute in our school system. Assignments may be one day or longer, with flexible scheduling based on school needs and caregiver availability.

Licensed nurses provide routine health services, administer medications with proper orders, maintain health records, and support student well-being during the school day. This role requires strong clinical skills and adherence to privacy regulations.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid LPN or RN license.
Minimum two years of supervised nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or school settings.
Current CPR certification from a recognized provider.
Familiarity with basic keyboarding; able to maintain records securely.

Responsibilities

Maintain student health records and update immunization status as required.
Administer medications with parental consent and physician orders; keep forms on file.
Provide first aid and assist sick or injured students and staff.
Train staff to administer medications for field trips and other activities.
Ensure compliance with privacy laws and coordinate with health departments as needed.
Develop or support Individual Health Care Plans for students with medical conditions.
Assist in supervising unlicensed personnel providing health care under nurse supervision.
Support health-related counseling and guidance to staff and students.
