Job summary

Caring Hand Home Health Solutions, Inc. is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work alongside a supervising OT, delivering hands-on care to help clients rebuild daily self-care skills in home settings.

The role emphasizes teamwork, empathy, and high-quality service, with visits across clients’ homes in California. A current AOTA certification and active state license are required, plus CPR and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the AOTA.
• Current national AOTA certification.
• Active state license as required by state licensure law.
• At least one year of clinical experience as a COTA.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and a reliable, insured vehicle for travel to patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist and track patient progress.
• Teach patients new skills or help relearn daily activities lost to illness or injury.
• Assess patients’ functional abilities and home environments to identify hazards and opportunities for greater independence.
• Keep clear, timely clinical records and flag changes in patient condition to the supervising therapist.
• Coach families and caregivers on how to support recovery at home.
• Coordinate with the wider care team through case conferences, in-services, and ongoing communication.
• Meet with your supervising Occupational Therapist at least every 30 days to review care and outcomes.
