Job summary

Shaner Hotels in Sarasota, FL is seeking a server/bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. Take orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently per hotel specifications.

You will maintain stock and cleanliness, ensure safety and quality standards, and handle guest issues. A minimum of one year in Restaurant/F&B is required; ServSafe and TIPS are a plus. High school diploma required; some college preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus.
• Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
• Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
• Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications.
• Maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment.
• Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
• Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department.
• Responds to guest related issues pertaining to the department.
