Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an experienced data leader to head the Data Management team. You will manage two Data Management Officers and collaborate across Digital, Data and Technology to embed lifecycle processes that support organisational objectives.

You will champion data quality, privacy by design and develop enterprise governance frameworks while guiding data products through their lifecycle. The role emphasizes people development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Substantial practitioner level experience in data, information reporting or data management, with degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership and people management of teams and performance.
• Strong knowledge of data model design and database management.
• Ability to set priorities, deliver outcomes and navigate change.
• Excellent analytical, evaluative and numerical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication to influence stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and implementation of enterprise data management policies and standards.
• Champion data quality, integrity, ethics and privacy by design.
• Develop governance frameworks, data ownership, and lifecycle management processes.
• Oversee data modelling, metadata, data dictionaries and data products.
• Support projects to embed data requirements into new systems.
• Build data capability and literacy across the Service and foster trusted data as an asset.
