Job summary

Mason County Schools seeks a Substitute Aide to assist teachers and support student learning across classrooms and buses. The role involves flexible assignments in a school setting, supervision of students, and collaboration with staff to provide a positive educational environment.

Terms are As Needed Basis; salary is set by the WV salary scale commensurate with experience and education. Employee may work across building locations with variable daily schedules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; background check per WV requirements.
• Demonstrated competency per WV codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with planning, preparation and distribution of classroom materials.
• Conduct learning activities and games with students.
• Maintain attendance and comply with school policies and state laws.
• Ensure a safe learning environment and supervise students as required.
• Attend in-services and workshops as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all duties.
• Supervise students in classrooms, cafeteria, hallways, and buses as needed.
• Assist with bus duties and student supervision on transportation.
