Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a dedicated team member for full-time backroom operations in Columbia, MD. You will receive, unload, and organize shipments to ensure products are stocked, rotated, and ready for customers.

The role supports a smooth-running store with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, organizing storage areas, maintaining cleanliness, reporting issues, and applying FIFO to keep products fresh while working in a cold environment

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Excellent teamwork and reliability

Responsibilities

• Unload daily deliveries safely and efficiently
• Sort, organize and stage products in the appropriate storage areas
• Maintain a clean and organized backroom and storage area
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory issues to management
• Rotate products following FIFO (first in, first out) practices to maintain freshness
• Properly handle products, use equipment, and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines
• Work in cold temperatures; lifting 8-32 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently
