Job summary

Wegmans in Virginia is seeking a Backroom Associate to help receive, unload, sort, and stock daily deliveries. You will maintain an efficient backroom and sales floor, rotate products using FIFO, and report discrepancies to management.

You'll work in a cold environment, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, follow food safety guidelines, and contribute to a smooth operation with meticulous organization and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in safe handling and stocking of groceries.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds occasionally.
• Comfort working in cold temperatures.
• Attention to detail and inventory reporting.
• FIFO inventory practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload daily deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Sort, organize and stage products in the appropriate storage areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized backroom and storage area.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory issues to management.
• Rotate products following FIFO (first in, first out) practices to maintain freshness.
• Properly handle products, use equipment, and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines.
• Work in cold temperatures; lifting 8-32 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently.
