Job summary

Goldfish Swim School of Houston Heights is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach water safety and basic swimming skills using our curriculum. You will help children build confidence, stay safe around water, and make learning fun in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons, enforcing safety rules, tracking progress, communicating with parents, and assisting with class setup. A positive attitude, reliability, and teamwork are essential to promote a welcoming, safe

Qualifications

• Experience teaching children basic swimming and water safety.
• Must have CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Experience as lifeguard or youth instructor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
• Evaluates students’ progress and completes required paperwork.
• Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
• Acts as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
• Uses problem solving to identify and resolve challenges students encounter.
• Inspects pool areas before/after class, reports maintenance or cleanliness issues.
• Maintains and stores pool equipment; places/removes lane lines.
• Reports accidents and completes required documentation.
• Performs light cleaning duties as needed and attends workshops.
• Attends required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside regular hours.
• Upholds Goldfish Swim School standards in all duties.
