Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food service helpful but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on program needs.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow menus, meal plans, safety procedures, and directions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn agency systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to menus and dietary needs.
• Follow approved menus, recipes, portion sizes, and meal plans with authorized substitutions.
• Ensure meals are served on time and at proper temperatures with good presentation.
• Complete food prep and tasks to ensure supplies are ready for next day.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and agency procedures.
• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Complete cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, and ware-washing.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs to Chef Manager.
• Use PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and moving supplies and equipment.
• Support orientation/training of new employees as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with kitchen team and treat others with respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Chef Manager.
