Job summary

JEVS Human Services invites applications for a community-based Community Support Counselor. The Independence Network helps young adults with disabilities live independently through goal planning, skill-building, and community engagement. This role covers Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties based on availability.

You will support members with goal attainment, independence skills, social development, and community participation, both in-home and in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with assigned individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship
• Contribute to plans that support individuals to pursue their goals and dreams
• Teach independent living skills and develop strategies the individual can rely on to continue to grow in their independence
• Provide guidance and mentoring to support social skills
• Coach individual(s) to establish volunteer opportunities or paid employment
• Assist individuals to engage in community activities that match their interests
