Job summary

JEVS Human Services is seeking a Community Support Counselor to assist Independence Network members in Camden, Burlington, and/or Gloucester counties. You will build trusted relationships, support goal planning, teach independent living skills, and mentor social development to promote independence.

This community-based role offers flexible scheduling, a collaborative team environment, and hands-on experience helping individuals engage in meaningful activities and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with assigned individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
• Contribute to plans that support individuals to pursue their goals and dreams.
• Teach independent living skills and develop strategies the individual can rely on to continue to grow in their independence.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to support social skills.
• Coach individual(s) to establish volunteer opportunities or paid employment.
• Assist individuals to engage in community activities that match their interests.
