Job summary

South Beach Group Hotels in Miami Beach is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join our hotel kitchen team. You will prepare and direct the preparation of food, following established production procedures and sanitation standards, while guiding others as needed and ensuring adherence to health guidelines.

This full-time position reports to the Kitchen Manager and requires a minimum of 2 years of culinary experience and at least 1 year in a hotel environment, plus a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hotel environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary degree and/or hotel related experience preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment to resolve issues.
• Flexible schedule; weekends and holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or directs preparation of food using established procedures.
• Adheres to sanitation standards and hygiene.
• Stores food properly with dating.
• Reports equipment repairs to supervisor.
• Prepares food following standard recipes and diet orders.
• Plans production around meal serving hours to maintain quality and presentation.
• Apportions food for serving.
• Maintains daily production records.
• Keeps work area clean and maintains equipment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the manager.
