Job summary

Rockwell Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a licensed COTA to provide OT services in our long term care setting. You will work under supervision of an OTR, document progress, and support a multidisciplinary team.

Typical responsibilities include patient treatment, scheduling, documentation of daily participation, and ensuring orders and discharges are processed in compliance with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Document patient progress and obtain the OTR's co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders for treatments, re-certifications and discharges are obtained.
• Assist with documentation per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by the Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Schedule patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and community as needed.
• Comply with facility policies and confidentiality requirements.
