Warsaw Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Warsaw, NC is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Provide comprehensive OT services under supervision, support residents, and contribute to an interdisciplinary team in a long-term care setting.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, adherence to state guidelines, scheduling, billing logs, and ensuring appropriate patient care from admission to discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate with BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress notes with CO-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients accurately for OT services.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absences.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and patients.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff and community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and HR guidelines.
