Job summary

Northwell Health Med Practice CT is seeking an experienced RN to join a Medical Practice Float Team. This per diem role covers CT areas including Wilton, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, and Ridgefield, with 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

The RN will assist clinicians, triage patients, provide direct patient care, and support a collaborative, patient-centered environment within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required in state
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Triages and assesses patient conditions via phone or in-person consultations.
• Determines urgency and type of care required based on assessment.
• Provides medical advice and guidance based on assessments.
• Communicates with physicians, nurses and care team about patient statuses.
• Prepares materials, supplies, equipment, and patient for exams.
• Obtains patient history and medical information.
• Performs direct patient care such as ear irrigation, vaccinations, wound care, nurse visits, suture removal.
• Collects and processes specimens and performs point-of-care testing.
• Instructs patient on preventive care and medication usage.
• Contacts patient by phone for follow-up and test results.
