Job summary

Goldsboro Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Goldsboro, NC is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our long-term care team. You will provide direct patient care under a licensed PT, helping implement rehab plans and supporting a multidisciplinary team in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license/registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT per state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document daily participation and progress on progress notes with PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients accurately for PT services.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff and community.
• Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and present professionally.
• Adhere to productivity requirements.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere with professional communication.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
• Comply with facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any other facility written and oral policies and procedures.

Education

BA or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy
