Job summary

North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a dependable PRN Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations in a fast-paced outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care.

The role offers flexible PRN scheduling across multiple outpatient imaging centers in the DFW area. Candidates should be able to work independently or with a team and have ARDMS certification.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification required.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience performing a variety of general ultrasound examinations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations following physician orders and imaging protocols.
• Conduct abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, vascular (if credentialed), small parts and other studies as assigned.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients for a safe imaging experience.
• Obtain and document relevant patient history for interpretation help.
• Produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
• Operate ultrasound equipment safely with attention to image quality.
• Verify patient identity and exam orders prior to imaging.
• Document patient information and procedures in the EMR.
• Maintain and report equipment concerns.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and QA protocols.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and staff to ensure patient care.
• Keep a clean, organized work environment and assist with other duties as needed.
