Job summary

The Pines at Placerville Healthcare Center is seeking an On-Call / PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to support our nursing team with flexible scheduling and no fixed shifts.

As an RN in this PRN role, you will provide safe, compassionate resident care, administer medications, and assist with admissions, transfers, and other nursing duties as needed. The position emphasizes teamwork, quality care, and adaptability in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, active, and unrestricted California RN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to skilled nursing/long-term care.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect resident information.
• Ability to meet applicable physical and job-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care.
• Assess residents and recognize and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Notify physicians and responsible parties of significant changes as appropriate.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders, care plans, and facility policies.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for accuracy and completion.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Perform vital signs, assessments, IV starts, and specimen collection as ordered and within scope of practice.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Monitor residents requiring increased observation or clinical attention.
• Address resident and family questions and concerns professionally and compassionately.
• Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
